1. What Ryda is

Ryda is a lead-generation marketplace that connects delivery riders looking for a motorbike with fleet owners who rent or rent-to-own bikes, in Cape Town and (eventually) other South African cities. Ryda introduces riders and owners to each other. Ryda is not a party to any rental agreement, and does not handle booking, payment, or delivery of a bike between a rider and an owner. That agreement, and the money that changes hands under it, is strictly between the rider and the owner, arranged off-platform.

2. Accounts

You need an account to list a bike (owners) or to have your enquiries saved to a dashboard (riders: browsing and contacting an owner doesn't require an account). You must provide accurate information, including a working phone number and a valid South African ID number, which we use to reduce fraud and impersonation on the platform (see our Privacy Policy for how this is stored). You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for anything that happens under your account.

3. Listings and leads

Owners are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings: the bike's condition, availability, and price. Ryda does not set, cap, verify, or take a cut of any price an owner lists. When a rider submits interest in a listing, we share that rider's name, phone number, and message with the listing's owner so the owner can follow up directly.

4. Verification

A “Verified” badge means Ryda has taken a reasonable step to confirm an owner's identity. It is not a guarantee of the owner's conduct, the condition of any bike, or the outcome of any rental arrangement. Riders should still exercise their own judgment before agreeing to rent from anyone.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post a listing for a bike you don't own or aren't authorized to rent out
• Use another person's identity or ID number to register
• Use contact details obtained through Ryda for anything other than arranging a rental
• Attempt to scrape, spam, or abuse the platform or its rate limits

We may suspend or remove a listing or account that violates these terms, including in response to a report from another user.

6. Optional paid features

Some Ryda features are optional paid upgrades, for owners (e.g. unlimited active listings) and for renters (e.g. sending more requests) alike, billed as a subscription and processed through a third-party payment provider. This is only ever payment for Ryda's own features: Ryda never touches, sets, or takes a cut of the rental price you and the other party agree on, and the core flow of browsing, contacting, and being contacted always stays free.

7. No warranty, limitation of liability

Ryda is provided “as is.” We don't guarantee the accuracy of any listing, the conduct of any rider or owner, or that a rental arrangement made through an introduction on Ryda will go as agreed. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ryda is not liable for disputes, losses, or damages arising from a rental agreement between a rider and an owner.

We may update these terms as Ryda grows. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
